The Movement of Stars by Amy Brill

wordpress

This may or may not be the book club book from last month that I hated. Well I didn’t hate it. But I definitely didn’t like it. And I certainly wouldn’t have read it if it wasn’t our book club book. Here’s a simple summary.

A love story set in 1845 Nantucket, between a female astronomer and the unusual man who understands her dreams.

Let me tell you something. This is not a love story. There is no love. They don’t even really touch each other. There is no chemistry. There is a lot of thees and thous and all this language that gets in the way. It made my skimming tendency when reading come out full force. I did not like this book at all. And I feel bad about that because it apparently took the author a really long time to write it slash get it published. I mean.. I can see why. No offense Amy Brill.
