Bo at Ballard Creek

This book is SO cute. It is about a little girl named Bo who lives in rural Alaska during (or a little after) the Gold Rush. The chapters are mini vignettes of her life never seeming to make a plot with a conflict and resolution until the end when she meets a mute little boy with no parents. How can she help him?

The author made a point for Bo to have two dads in the story but then also made it very clear that they weren’t “together” which I thought was weird. If you’re going to give her two dads why not make them “together”?

Overall a very cute book. Could be read to younger kids a chapter a night.
